सोरठि महला ५ ॥ चरन कमल सिउ जा का मनु लीना से जन त्रिपति अघाई ॥ गुण अमोल जिसु रिदै न वसिआ ते नर त्रिसन त्रिखाई ॥१॥ हरि आराधे अरोग अनदाई ॥ जिस नो विसरै मेरा राम सनेही तिसु लाख बेदन जणु आई ॥ रहाउ ॥ जिह जन ओट गही प्रभ तेरी से सुखीए प्रभ सरणे ॥ जिह नर बिसरिआ पुरखु बिधाता ते दुखीआ महि गनणे ॥२॥ जिह गुर मानि प्रभू लिव लाई तिह महा अनंद रसु करिआ ॥ जिह प्रभू बिसारि गुर ते बेमुखाई ते नरक घोर महि परिआ ॥३॥ जितु को लाइआ तित ही लागा तैसो ही वरतारा ॥ नानक सह पकरी संतन की रिदै भए मगन चरनारा ॥४॥४॥१५॥ {पन्ना 612-613}

अर्थ: हे भाई! परमात्मा की आराधना करने से निरोग हो जाते हैं, आत्मिक आनंद बना रहता है। पर जिस मनुष्य को मेरा प्यारा प्रभू भूल जाता है, उस पर (ऐसे) जानो (जैसे) लाखों तकलीफ़ें आ पड़ती हैं। रहाउ।

हे भाई! जिन मनुष्यों का मन प्रभू के कमल फूल जैसे कोमल चरणों में परच जाता है, वह मनुष्य (माया की ओर से) पूरे तौर पर संतोषी रहते हैं। पर, जिस जिस मनुष्य के हृदय में परमात्मा के अमूल्य गुण नहीं आ के बसते, वे मनुष्य माया की तृष्णा में फंसे रहते हैं।1।

हे प्रभू! जिन मनुष्यों ने तेरा आसरा लिया, वे तेरी शरण में रह के सुख पाते हैं। पर, हे भाई! जिन मनुष्यों को सर्व-व्यापक करतार भूल जाता है, वे मनुष्य दुखियों में गिने जाते हैं।2।

हे भाई! जिन मनुष्यों ने गुरू की आज्ञा मान के परमात्मा में सुरति जोड़ ली, उन्होंने बड़ा आनंद बड़ा रस पाया। पर जो मनुष्य परमात्मा को भुला के गुरू की ओर से मुँह मोड़ के रखते हैं वे भयानक नर्क में पड़े रहते हैं।3।

हे नानक! (जीवों के क्या वश?) जिस काम में परमात्मा किसी जीव को लगाता है उसी काम में वह लगा रहता है, हरेक जीव वैसा ही काम करता है। जिन मनुष्यों ने (प्रभू की प्रेरणा से) संत-जनों का आसरा लिया है वे अंदर से प्रभू के चरणों में मस्त रहते हैं।4।4।15।

Naanak Seh Pakaree Santhan Kee Ridhai Bheae Magan Charanaaraa ||4||4||15||

Meaning: Hey brother!  Worshiping God is healthy, spiritual bliss remains.  But the person whom my beloved Lord forgets, know (like) millions of troubles on him.  Rahu.

 Hey brother!  Human beings whose mind is touched in soft feet like the lotus flower of God, they are completely content (from Maya).  But, the person who does not have the priceless qualities of God in his heart, is trapped in the craving of Maya.

 Hey god  Those who have taken shelter in you, they get happiness by staying in your shelter.  But, brother!  Human beings who forget all-pervasive Kartar, they are counted as sorrows. 2.

 Hey brother!  Those who have added beauty to God by obeying the Guru, they found great joy.  But the people who keep the divine turning their face towards the forgotten Guru, they are in terrible hell.


 Hey Nanak!  (What control of the living beings?) In the work in which God employs an organism, he is engaged in the same work, every living being does the same thing.  Those who have taken the shelter of saints (with the inspiration of Lord), they are cool at the feet of Lord from inside.4.4.15.
