सोरठि महला ५ ॥ करि इसनानु सिमरि प्रभु अपना मन तन भए अरोगा ॥ कोटि बिघन लाथे प्रभ सरणा प्रगटे भले संजोगा ॥१॥ प्रभ बाणी सबदु सुभाखिआ ॥ गावहु सुणहु पड़हु नित भाई गुर पूरै तू राखिआ ॥ रहाउ ॥ साचा साहिबु अमिति वडाई भगति वछल दइआला ॥ संता की पैज रखदा आइआ आदि बिरदु प्रतिपाला ॥२॥ हरि अम्रित नामु भोजनु नित भुंचहु सरब वेला मुखि पावहु ॥ जरा मरा तापु सभु नाठा गुण गोबिंद नित गावहु ॥३॥ सुणी अरदासि सुआमी मेरै सरब कला बणि आई ॥ प्रगट भई सगले जुग अंतरि गुर नानक की वडिआई ॥४॥११॥ {पन्ना 611}

पद्अर्थ: करि = कर के। सिमरि = सिमर के। अरोगा = आरोग्य। कोटि = करोड़ों। बिघन = (जिंदगी के राह में) रुकावटें। प्रगटे = प्रकट हो जाते हैं। भले संजोगा = प्रभू मिलाप के भले अवसर।1।

प्रभ बाणी = प्रभू की सिफत सालाह की बाणी। सुभाखिआ = सुंदर उचारा हुआ। भाई = हे भाई! तू = तुझे। गुर पूरै = पूरे गुरू ने। राखिआ = (जीवन विघ्नों से) बचा लिया। रहाउ।

साचा = सदा कायम रहने वाला। पैज = इज्जत। आदि = आरम्भ से। बिरदु = प्रकृति का मूल स्वभाव।2।

अंम्रित = आत्मिक जीवन देने वाला। भुंचहु = खाओ। मुखि = मुँह में। जरा = (आत्मिक जीवन को) बुढ़ापा। मरा = मौत। तापु = दुख कलेश।3।

सुआमी मेरै = मेरे मालिक ने। सरब कला = सारी ताकत (‘कोटि बिघन’ के मुकाबले के लिए) सारी शक्ति। बणि आई = पैदा हो जाती है। सगले जुग अंतरि = सारे युगों में, सदा ही। गुर नानक की = हे नानक! गुरू की।4।

अर्थ: हे भाई! (गुरू ने अपना) शबद सुंदर उचारा हुआ है, (ये शबद) प्रभू की सिफत सालाह की बाणी है। (इस शबद को) सदा गाते रहो, सुनते रहो, पढ़ते रहो, (अगर ये उद्यम करता रहेगा, तो यकीन रख) पूरे गुरू ने तुझे (जीवन में आने वाली रुकावटों से) बचा लिया। रहाउ।

(हे भाई! अमृत वेले, प्रभात के वक्त) स्नान करके, अपने प्रभू का नाम सिमर के मन और शरीर नरोए हो जाते हैं (क्योंकि) प्रभू की शरण पड़ने से (जीवन के राह में आने वाली) करोड़ों रुकावटें दूर हो जाती हैं, और, प्रभू से मिलाप के बढ़िया अवसर प्रगट हो जाते हैं।1।

हे भाई! मालिक प्रभू सदा कायम रहने वाला है, उसकी बुजुर्गी नापी नहीं जा सकती, वह भक्ति से प्यार करने वाला है, वह दया का श्रोत है, अपने संतों की इज्जत वह (सदा ही) रखता आया है, अपना ये बिरद स्वभाव वह आरम्भ से ही पालता आ रहा है।2।

हे भाई! परमात्मा का नाम आत्मिक जीवन देने वाला है, ये (आत्मिक) खुराक खाते रहो, हर वक्त अपने मुँह में डालते रहो। हे भाई! गोबिंद के गुण सदा गाते रहो (आत्मिक जीवन को) ना बुढ़ापा आएगा ना मौत आएगी, हरेक दुख-कलेश दूर हो जाएगा।3।

हे भाई! (जिस भी मनुष्य ने गुरू के शबद का आसरा ले के प्रभू का नाम जपा) मेरे मालिक ने उसकी अरदास सुन ली, (करोड़ों विघनों से मुकाबला करने के लिए उसके अंदर) पूरी ताकत पैदा हो जाती है। हे नानक! गुरू की ये अज़मत सारे युगों में ही प्रत्यक्ष प्रगट रहती है।4।11।

Meaning: Hey brother!  (Guru himself) Shabad is beautiful, (this Shabad) is the sign of the salah of Prabhu.  (Singing this word) Always sing, keep listening, keep reading, (if it keeps going, be sure) the entire Guru has saved you (from the obstacles coming in life).  Rahu.

 (O brother! Amrit Vale, at the time of Prabhat) By bathing, the name of your Lord becomes Simar's mind and body (because) because of the refuge of Lord (coming in the way of life) crores of obstacles are removed,  And, good opportunities of union with the Lord are revealed. 1.

 Hey brother!  Lord Prabhu is everlasting, his old age cannot be measured, he is a lover of devotion, he is a source of mercy, he has been (always) respected by his saints, he has had his great nature from the very beginning.  Parenting is coming. 2.

 Hey brother!  The name of God is the one giving spiritual life, keep eating these (spiritual) doses, keep putting it in your mouth all the time.  Hey brother!  Always sing the merits of Gobind (to spiritual life) neither old age will come or death will come, every sorrow will be removed. 3.

 Hey brother!  (Whosoever has taken care of the Guru's Shabad, chanting the name of the Lord) My master listens to his Ardas, (to withstand crores of obstacles), full power is created in him.  Hey Nanak!  This azamat of Guru is directly visible in all ages. 4.11.
