The human acts according to the wishes of the mind.
This mind feeds on virtue and vice.
Intoxicated with the wine of Maya, satisfaction never comes.
Satisfaction and liberation come, only to one whose mind is pleasing to the True Lord. ||1||
Gazing upon his body, wealth, wife and all his possessions, he is proud.
But without the Name of the Lord, nothing shall go along with him. ||1||Pause||
He enjoys tastes, pleasures and joys in his mind.
But his wealth will pass on to other people, and his body will be reduced to ashes.
The entire expanse, like dust, shall mix with dust.
Without the Word of the Shabad, his filth is not removed. ||2||
The various songs, tunes and rhythms are false.
Trapped by the three qualities, people come and go, far from the Lord.
In duality, the pain of their evil-mindedness does not leave them.
But the Gurmukh is emancipated by taking the medicine, and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||

यह मन पुण्य और इसके विपरीत होता है।
माया की शराब से नशे में, संतुष्टि कभी नहीं आती है।
संतोष और मुक्ति केवल उसी को मिलती है, जिसका मन सच्चे भगवान को प्रसन्न होता है। || 1 ||
अपने शरीर, धन, पत्नी और अपनी सारी संपत्ति को देखते हुए, उन्हें गर्व है।
लेकिन प्रभु के नाम के बिना, उसके साथ कुछ भी नहीं जाना चाहिए। || 1 || रोकें ||
वह अपने मन में स्वाद, सुख और खुशियाँ मनाता है।
लेकिन उसका धन अन्य लोगों के पास चला जाएगा, और उसका शरीर राख में कम हो जाएगा।
संपूर्ण विस्तार, धूल की तरह, धूल के साथ मिश्रित होगा।
शबद के शब्द के बिना, उसकी गंदगी को हटाया नहीं जाता है। || 2 ||

बिलावलु महला १ ॥
मन का कहिआ मनसा करै ॥
इहु मनु पुंनु पापु उचरै ॥
माइआ मदि माते त्रिपति न आवै ॥
त्रिपति मुकति मनि साचा भावै ॥१॥
तनु धनु कलतु सभु देखु अभिमाना ॥
बिनु नावै किछु संगि न जाना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
कीचहि रस भोग खुसीआ मन केरी ॥
धनु लोकां तनु भसमै ढेरी ॥
खाकू खाकु रलै सभु फैलु ॥
बिनु सबदै नही उतरै मैलु ॥२॥
गीत राग घन ताल सि कूरे ॥
त्रिहु गुण उपजै बिनसै दूरे ॥
दूजी दुरमति दरदु न जाइ ॥
छूटै गुरमुखि दारू गुण गाइ ॥३॥
धोती ऊजल तिलकु गलि माला ॥
अंतरि क्रोधु पड़हि नाट साला ॥
नामु विसारि माइआ मदु पीआ ॥
बिनु गुर भगति नाही सुखु थीआ ॥४॥
सूकर सुआन गरधभ मंजारा ॥
पसू मलेछ नीच चंडाला ॥
गुर ते मुहु फेरे तिन्ह जोनि भवाईऐ ॥
बंधनि बाधिआ आईऐ जाईऐ ॥५॥
गुर सेवा ते लहै पदारथु ॥
हिरदै नामु सदा किरतारथु ॥
साची दरगह पूछ न होइ ॥
माने हुकमु सीझै दरि सोइ ॥६॥
सतिगुरु मिलै त तिस कउ जाणै ॥
रहै रजाई हुकमु पछाणै ॥
हुकमु पछाणि सचै दरि वासु ॥
काल बिकाल सबदि भए नासु ॥७॥
रहै अतीतु जाणै सभु तिस का ॥
